Large-scale service reviews or strategic commissioning/procurement planning for Local Authorities
We have worked on large-scale service projects for Local Authorities. We have completed major projects in the UK. From reviewing Day Care Services to developing Housing and Accommodation strategies, Commissioning strategies or reviewing Residential Care provision. We deliver on time, within budget.

Interim Management
Janjer has supported Local Authorities in interim management such as in Home Care, Residential Care and the Independent Sector at Director and Care Manager levels. Notably taking a Local Authority in its residential care services through noticeable improvements in CSCI Star Ratings. We have also supported another Local Authority in Commissioning and Procurement activities across the full range of these services. This including refreshing their Commissioning strategies, and modernising their contracting to reflect new approaches in Self Directed Support.

Star Ratings - Inspections from CSCI, OFSTED and other Regulators
The overall judgements of services now being delivered by Regulators have a significant impact on your business and service user referrals especially if you are judged to be providing adequate or (more importantly) poor services. We have helped providers who have been asked to accept reduced fees as their care is judged to be below the National Minimum Standards. We have challenged inappropriate requirements in reports and had them removed, or many consolidated under one requirement. We can help you set in place service developments to improve services and raise ratings. We also work closely with Regulators and through service improvement plans help them to gain confidence and assurance that the services where they have concerns are able to improve and this is sustainable. Janjer will work with you to improve your service in line with CSCI’s ‘key lines of regulatory assessment (KLORA)

Safeguarding, Complaints, Investigations and Representation work
We have represented clients when concerns have arisen in respect to Child and Adult protection. Unless you are experienced at working in these areas with Local Authorities and Police then significant service disruption can occur. Staff can be suspended for months on full pay. Investigations can have a large impact on your reputation and referrals to your business. Janjer with its expertise can help Providers in these difficult situations. At a more strategic level we have reviewed Local Authority Safeguarding approached and made wholesale root and branch changes to strengthen policy and practice.

Workforce management and staff training
Advice on complex staffing disputes or concerns. For many smaller care services, having specialist in-house staff to advise or deal with these issues is simply not realistic. Training courses e.g. POVA, Dementia Care, Managing Aggression and Violence. Janjer work with Associates offering a wide range of skills whatever your needs, we can assist. Management on an interim basis for short periods or support when companies require a more complex solution connected with change and business improvements.

Proprietors / Owners visits - Regulation 26 and 33 Visits
This service includes in line with the regulations: An independent monthly visit & audit of services that bears weight and has credibility for regulating authorities e.g. CSCI, Social Services, Health and all people interested in your services such as potential Users and Carers. Regular professional support and supervision to Care Managers.

Care planning, Risk assessments/policies and procedures
For many providers they have ongoing requirements concerning care planning and risk management systems. Every inspection report seems to ask for better evidence or more detail. ‘It never seems to be right’. Staff are filling in more and more paper records and spending more time on administration. We have a complete system covering Care Assessment, Care Planning and Review with interconnected documents in either paper or paper-less versions for immediate use. This system provides a straightforward approach to pre-admission assessment, care planning identification and review that will improve how staff understand clients needs and identify how best to work and report progress to stake holders interested in the progress of clients placed in your care.

Problems with policies and procedures? Need assistance with quality systems?
We have introduced to a number of clients fast practical solutions to policy and procedure problems. Janjer can supply or help with any policies and procedures that are proving to be problematic.

Advising on new developments, extensions and general applications to register, vary or amend conditions of registration

We have successfully appealed for clients against Planning and Regulatory restrictions or conditions. Also help with amendments or variances to conditions on your registration.
